ChronoCash Warranty
The warranty is valid from the date of purchase and covers a period of 24 months.
If the watch proves to be defective in material or workmanship under normal use, the warranty covers the repair.
Damages resulting from an impact, fall, or wrong operation of the watch are not covered by the warranty.
An experienced watchmaker can quickly determine the cause of the problem.
- You wear your watch, start the chronograph and notice it does not work anymore, even though you have not dropped the watch or accidentally hit it somewhere.
- You notice a large accuracy deviation which is outside of the tolerance range.
Accuracy and tolerance ranges:
The accuracy of a watch depends on many factors.
On one hand, it makes a difference if it is a quartz movement, automatic movement or a hand-wound movement.
Climate conditions as well as the intensity of use also affect the accuracy. The age of a watch is also very important, since the wear and tear of the individual components, for example the extension of the tension spring or the wear and tear of the bearings of rotors in automatic watches, are critical for the precision of the watch. In order to maintain the quality of your watch, as well as flawless functionality and accuracy, it is advisable to have an experienced watchmaker service your watch every 3 - 4 years.
Many watch brands have internal tolerance values in the accuracy deviation. These can be easily found on the official websites of the different suppliers.
Just go to our “Brands” tab, find the desired watch manufacturer and you will find a link to the official website.
There is also the COSC quality certificate which is used by many large watch brands including Panerai, Roger Debuis, Ulysse Nardin and many others.
Here are the values and conditions that are checked for a COSC certificate:
Eliminatory criteria | Tolerance
Abbr. | Movement > 20 mm | Movement < 20 mm
Average daily rate | M | -4 to +6 sec/day | -5 to +8 sec/day |
Mean variation in rates | V | max. 2 sec/day | max. 3,4 sec/day |
Greatest variation in rates | Vmax | -6 to +8 sec/day | -8 to +10 sec/day |
Difference between rates in horizontal and vertical positions | D | max. 2 sec/day | max. 3,4 sec/day |
Largest variation in rates | P | max. 10 sec/day | max. 15 sec/day |
Thermal variation (variation in rates per °C) | C | max. 0,6 sec/day°C | max. 0,7 sec/day°C |
Rate resumption (Comparison of 1st and 2nd day with day 15) | R | max. 5 sec/day | max. 6 sec/day |
It should be noted that these values only apply to relatively “young” watches and in normal use.
The older the watch and the more it was used, the higher the deviations will be.
The warranty does not cover damage or wear and tear to the case, strap, bracelet, buckle, push buttons, glass crystal or clasps as well as the battery.
In the case of water damage, the watch should be sent to our Service Centre as soon as possible to avoid damages such as corrosion.
Furthermore, our watchmakers determine the exact reason for the penetration of moisture.
If the damage was not caused by the customer (open crown, push button) and the watch was always used in correct depth or pressure conditions, ChronoCash naturally accepts all incurring costs in the repair of the damage.
Otherwise, ChronoCash waives the warranty claim and calculates the cost of repair and restoration with prior agreement.
Please note that ChronoCash does not offer warranty of water resistance for watches older than 10 years from the date of purchase.
