Drive de Cartier Moon Phases
A year after Cartier launched the Drive de Cartier collection, they presented the Drive de Cartier Moon Phases at the SIHH 2017.
The case has been designed to feel slim and comfortable which is usual with Cartier. It has a 40mm cushion-shaped box which is available in steel and 18k pink gold. Two blued-steel hands glide across the guilloche dial with the classic Roman numerals. Overall this design looks more elegant and dressier on the wrist than expected.
The Drive de Cartier Moon Phases is powered by the same base movement as the rest of their collection, the automatic Calibre 1904-LU MC, which holds 48 hours of power reserve. It includes the moon-phase display showing a classical blue and gold moon disc at 6 o’clock that gives the watch its name. This beautiful complication also adds a little bit of poetry to the watch. The absence of the seconds hand and no date window, this watch provides the eye with elegance and balance.
